The Switch to expand New York Network Operations Center, Open Second Los Angeles Operations Center

In New York, The Switch will be doubling the size of it’s current Network Operations Center (NOC) and its Customer Service Center, upgrading the technical infrastructure and adding additional office space at its 60 Hudson Street, New York location. This expansion will double the monitoring capabilities of the current NOC and provide additional space to accommodate the growth of its unique Uncompressed High Definition Transport business and associated support personnel.
In Los Angeles plans have been finalized to construct a second Network Operations Center. This new facility, located at 3440 Motor Avenue in Los Angeles, will feature full monitoring and control of The Switch’s ICOD (Inter city on demand) Network as well as UPS and generator emergency backup systems to ensure the highest level of availability. As in New York, the Los Angeles Operations Center (LOC) will be staffed 24/7 to operate in tandem with New York in a virtual configuration.
The Switch’s enhanced Network Operations configuration will provide geographically diverse, network monitoring, control, staffing and SwitchIT, The Switch’s proprietary customer software that controls ordering, scheduling and server locations.
Services to and from The Switch’s 44 city PoP locations, as well as, the 144 sports venues accessible through The Switch network will remain available at all times.
