The Switch is seeking an insightful and motivated Manager, GL, Financial Reporting & External Audit to help deliver our ambitious business plan to grow and further develop our Company. This position will report directly to the Director of Finance while working closely with various internal teams.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Manage delivery for all aspects of the general ledger process, validation and analysis of reported results and support the audit process.
  • Manage monthly & period close process, variance reporting, account reconciliations and account analysis.
  • Perform the full range of complex accounting and financial activities.
  • Ensure monthly and year-end closes are completed timely and accurately.
  • Design and implement informative financial result reports to meet the needs of the business.
  • Interpret and analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems.
  • Prepare detailed analysis and reporting to record major accruals and adjustments.
  • Work closely with the Finance team to manage accounting transitions and provide value added analysis.
  • Manage direct report(s) on a daily basis.
  • Maintain documentation to support the audit process.
  • Assist with financial audits as necessary and interface with auditors.
  • Prepare and assist with documentation and monitoring of internal controls.
  • Respond to various audit requests related to designated areas of responsibilities.
  • Complete accounting and finance related projects as requested by Supervisor.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • 5+ years Accounting/General Ledger experience. • Experience in Telecommunications accounting is preferred.
  • Strong computer aptitude and advanced proficiency in Excel required.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast paced and challenging environment.
  • Ability to meet assigned and tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills.
  • Self-motivated with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and critical thinking skills as well as interpersonal skills required to work with a team environment.
  • Previous experience managing employees.
