NEW YORK—November 5, 2014—The Switch recently announced it has expanded, adding connections to Hartford, CT and Stamford, CT for a total of 46 city locations on The Switch’s International 20 Gbps Mesh Network.
In addition to the launch of The Switch-Hartford, and The Switch-Stamford, The Switch is also in the process of building into 43 NBA and NHL Venues. 52 locations are now live, bringing the total number of Points of Presence (PoP) on The Switch network to 98.
The two cities were connected in the final phase of a 50-city expansion planned originally announced at the 2012 NAB Show. The addition of Hartford and Stamford provided further reach to an already extensive network already capable of reaching most major sports markets within the United States. Each of The Switch’s 59 PoPs is accessible via SwitchIT and The Switch long-haul transport service Inter-City on Demand (ICOD).
